TRANSIT des Gens Du Pays

Mission : To research and lobby to improve public transit scheduling, accessibility for the elderly and handicapped, parking, comfort, safety and security of public transit users, without increasing fares.

Objectives of Mission:

1. To consult with public transit users by collecting, analyzing and managing mining data to identify by name, residence, place of work, telephone, fax, email, website users of public transit.
2. To promote public transit and alternative modes of mass rapid light transit by registering public transit users, car-pool drivers and passengers for rewards, prizes, loyalty programs and tax incentives.
3. To request that the Quebec Minister of Transport mandate the AMT and SMT and to request that the Minister of Transport & Infrastructures for the Government of Canada mandate Transport Canada to perform a feasibility study in order to prepare plans and estimates to start the construction of a Monorail elevated guideway as the best way to connect the Montreal Trudeau Airport with Downtown Montreal and all vehicular traffic entering and departing the Island of Montreal via Highway 40.
4. To request that the Montreal Agglomeration, AMT and SMT participate in a study to identify the best way to integrate a proposed People Mover Monorail rapid light transit elevated guideway as a shuttle-surface metro with the current and future transit network.
5. To enter into an Agreement with the Government of Quebec, Ministry of Transport and West Island Cities & Regional Borough Councils to operate a state of the art photo radar system to electronically capture on video and photo imagery the licence plates and driver identification of all vehicular traffic entering and departing the Island of Montreal along Highway 40, Sources Boulevard and public service roads to the Montreal Trudeau Airport with revenue generated from traffic and by-law violations on the proposed Monorail alignment route to be shared equitably amongst all participating public and private partners.
